If you’re more of a movie watcher, HBO GO or Netflix might be for you. And if you’re a network TV kinda trucker, then Hulu might be your cup of tea. When you’re on the road for a living, it can be tough being so far away from your loved ones. But that’s the great thing about 2016, you can always speak to them face to face! Just download Skype (or FaceTime if you have an iPhone) and you can video chat with them anywhere you have an Internet connection. Happy New Year’s to everyone out there from us here at TSNAmerica! It’s officially 2016, which means it’s time to put 2015 on the back burner. Our resolution here at TSNAmerica is for you truckers to have the best 2016 possible. No seriously, that’s our resolution. Don’t believe us? Well we’ve got three helpful little tips that say otherwise—so take a look.

Spend Time With Friends, Family, and Other Loved Ones

This one seems pretty self-explanatory, but there’s a reason it’s number one on our list. Because what’s a better way to start 2016 than spending it with the people you care about most? It doesn’t matter where you spend it, as long as you’re ringing in the new year with people you love, it’s bound to be fun, special, and most of all—memorable.

And for you truckers on the road, there’s always FaceTime and Skype, so even if you aren’t at home, there’s always a way to be close to those you care about.

Remember to Have Your End-of-Year Renewals Taken Care of

Like we’ve mentioned previously, as of today, both IFTA and UCR renewals are required to be taken care of. If you just had a slight panic attack because we just reminded you that you didn’t get yours renewed, then give us a call and let us handle it! After all, that’s what we’re here for.

Oh and another friendly reminder that the 4th quarter for IFTA has ended, and that means you’ve got until the end of the month to get your returns filed. But, if you send us your mileage records, fuel records, and fuel receipts, we’ll take care of that for you, too!

Customizing Your RigMinders

1. Quarterly Truck Deadlines 

First select any quarterly trucking deadlines that apply to your operation.

From IFTA, to IRP, to New Mexico Weight-Distance, all of the major deadlines are already there.

Simply swipe the button “on” to be reminded of each. And if you can’t remember what a certain filing is for, simply tap it to see a short description.

Then press the “Other Truck Deadlines” tab at the top to navigate to the next set of deadlines.

2. Other Deadlines

Here you’ll find an array of annual and biennial filing deadlines.

Whether you have trouble remembering your Form 2290, HazMat license renewal, or your USDOT biennial update, there’s a reminder here for you.

Once you’ve selected from all of the preloaded deadlines in RigMinders, it’s time to add custom reminders!

3. Add Personal Reminders

By selecting the yellow +Add Reminder button on the top right of the screen, a pop-up will open where you can add details for a personal, custom reminder.

Have trouble remembering your next scheduled maintenance? Add it to RigMinders! Are you a habitual late bill payer? Add your bill due dates!

If it’s an important, time-sensitive task, add it to your RigMinders to ensure you’ll get the job done.

4. Reminder Preferences

RigMinders not only allows you to customize your reminders, but also the reminder type and frequency.

At the bottom of your screen, you’ll see a black box prompting you to change your reminder preferences. Click there to be taken to this screen.

Here you can choose whether you’d like to be reminded of your deadlines the week before, day before, or day of the due date (or all 3). You can also choose how you’d like to be reminded, either by email or push notification. Press save, and you’re finished!

5. Editing Your RigMinders

After saving your preferences, you’ll be shown a summary screen with all of your deadline selections and preferences.

If something is missing or you’d like to make a change, simply press the pencil icon to be taken to that section where you can change your selections.

Remembering your important personal and industry deadlines has never been this easy!
