For motor carriers operating commercial vehicles on New Mexico public highways, with a gross weight in excess of 26,000 lbs, they are required to have a Weight Distance Tax Permit for each vehicle.
You must file the weight-distance tax (WDT) on quarterly basis. You are required to file a tax return regardless if you did not travel in New Mexico during the tax period. New Mexico weight-distance tax returns are filed through MVD online services or TSNA can file it for you. The 2013 4th Quarter Weight Distance Tax Return is due January 31, 2014.
