IRS extended E-File Deadline for Form 2290

If you missed the Form 2290 deadline on Friday, August 31, 2012, there's no need to panic because the IRS extended the E-Filing deadline until Friday, September 7, 2012 due to their planned maintenance over the Labor Day weekend.

That means you can still file on time as long as you E-File (the paper return deadline was NOT extended).  If you intended on paper filing but missed the deadline, you will need to E-File instead to avoid possible IRS penalties.

Don’t know how to E-File or can’t get to computer? No problem, just give Truck Services of North America a call and we will take care of it for you!  TSNA takes the paperwork out of your way!  All you will need is your business details, including EIN, Vehicle Identification Number (VIN), and Gross Weight of the Vehicle (Combined with maximum load).  You will be able to choose your IRS payment option, either Electronic Funds Withdrawal (EFT), Electronic Federal Tax Payment System (EFTPS) or Check/Money Order.

Normally we receive your Schedule 1 within minutes, but due to the IRS Maintenance, we will not receive your Schedule 1 until after the IRS resumes normal business activity after noon on Tuesday, September 4, 2012.  After September 4th, we will be able to receive your Schedule 1 within minutes of transmitting your return to the IRS.

There’s Still Time to File Form 2290!

Only Hours Left to File Form 2290

Today is the deadline to file your Form 2290 for Heavy Vehicle Use Tax.  The IRS will be shutting down at 1PM EST for their scheduled maintenance and will not be back up until noon on September 4, 2012.  Due to the scheduled maintenance, the IRS has extended the E-File deadline to September 7, 2012.

On the road and unable to file on your own?  No problem, just give TSNA a call and we’ll take care of it for you.  We take all your information over the phone and submit it to the IRS on your behalf!  All we need is your information and a signed Form 8453, giving us the authorization to file for you.  We can fax you the form, you sign it a fax it back and we take care of the rest.  If it is after 1PM, we will receive your Stamped Schedule 1 back on Tuesday September 4, 2012.

If you are paper filing the return still must be postmarked by today, August 31, 2012 to avoid IRS penalties and interest.
